The following describes the process for manually configuring Windows 7 for Unifi in the event that regular setup process fails
From the 'system tray'in the lower right corner of your screen, you should see a 'wireless network icon' like what is pictured below.
Select this icon to open the list of available wireless networks in range of the device
NOTE: If there is no network icon in the system tray, it may be hidden within the 'less frequently used items' area, which can be expanded by selecting the 'up-arrow', typically on the left-most edge of the system tray.
From the Connection panel select 'Open Network and Sharing Center'.
In the Network and Sharing Center select ‘Manage Wireless Networks’.
In Manage Wireless Networks select ‘Add’.
Select ‘Manually create network profile’.
Enter the following information:
Network name: ‘Unifi’
Note: it is essential that the "U" is capitalized.
Security type: ‘WPA2-Enterprise’
Select ‘Change connection settings’.
Select the ‘Security’ tab at the top of the box.
Change the network authentication method to ‘Protected EAP’.
Un-check the box for ‘Validate server certificate’.
Un-check the box for Automatically using your Windows credentials.
Click ‘Advanced Settings’ (from Step Eight).
Check the ‘Specify authentication mode’ box. In the drop down menu chose ‘User authentication’.
Click ‘OK’ and then click ‘OK’.
Click on the pop-up requesting ‘Additional information’, which will appear in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
You will be prompted for your Unifi credentials
After a few seconds you should be notified that the connection was established successfully. You now have Internet access.
