UWA students can download and install the Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus suite on their PC and mobile devices, thanks to UWA's subscription to Microsoft's Student Advantage Program.

Benefits

During their time enrolled at UWA, students have access to the full version of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as 1TB of cloud storage in OneDrive.

    • Windows 7 - Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive, Access, Publisher, Lync, Project and Visio
    • MacOS - Students using MacOS 10.6 and above Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel and OneDrive
    • Android, Apple iOS and Windows Mobile - Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneDrive
  • Web-Based Access - Access your files and an online version of Office 365 via the web any time you need them
  • Cloud Storage - Office 365 provides 1TB of free cloud storage

Students are responsible for self-support and training. Self-training resources are also available via our Online Training service.

How do I get it:

Students can visit Office.com/Getoffice365, and will enter an agreement with Microsoft directly.

They must use their <student number>@student.uwa.edu.au e-mail address to register and download the software.

The password they set during this process will be separate from their UWA Pheme password. UWA support staff cannot assist you with retrieving this password, however it may be managed via Live.com

Prerequisites:

Available to all current UWA students. Access ends upon graduation or cessation of studies.

Commitments

Individual students will:
  • Enrol in the Microsoft Office 365 Student program with their @student.uwa.edu.au address
  • Enter into an agreement directly with Microsoft for the term of their eligibility for the program.
  • Use the software and services provided by Microsoft strictly in accordance with their terms and conditions
  • Manage their Live.com account password (created during signup) using Microsoft's provided tools
  • Accept that although UWA facilitates this service, support is not available through UWA
  • Install the Office 365 software only on their own personally-owned devices
  • Make no attempt to install the software on University-owned equipment
  • Prior to leaving the University, save/transfer any files from OneDrive that they may wish to retain
  • Seek support and assistance for the software through self-training, online resources and their peers

Local IT Support will:

  • Direct students to seek assistance through online FAQs, UWA facilitated training, and online documentation.

Business Information & Technology Services will:

  • Facilitate this service through a subscription to Microsoft Student Advantage
  • Ensure that student email addresses and the associated access expires at the end of a student's enrolment
